Cubs 12, Angels 1

Sunday’s game, in which I sat in the fourth row above the dugout (Sec. 27, Row 4), was a terrific blowout game, and the first (second?) I’ve been to where the Cubs actually won.  (Both Sox games I’ve been to, the Sox have won.)  Exciting game.  Great plays (Angels loaded the bases, one out, infield grounder, lobbed home for a force out and strong throw to first for a double play to end the inning–brilliant, Cubs!).  Great hitting (the Cubs had 18 hits!).  Oh, and great seats.

This is how close we were sitting.

Joe Mantegna threw out the first pitch.  (Bad throw, Joe.)

Man, I was so close, I could see the players’ cleats moving the dirt around.  This is like 30 feet away from me.

And then Lou, who was on the Yankees when I was a Yankees fan, i.e. a child in NY, came out to argue a questionable call at first base.   Lou, so calm, Lou, so. . .  awkward?

Well, that’s the extreme limit of my ability to talk about sports.  But man, what a game.  Did I mention that I had really good seats?  My treat, Father’s Day.
