I am not a teenage writer, but I was once. And the essence of teenage writing often is exploration, not only of the written word and story, but also of the writer’s place in the world. My first question is how that changes when one is, say, almost forty? Does it? Perhaps the answer depends on some conditions and/or assumptions, e.g., (a) whether you write, (b) whether you finish your writing, (c) whether you have attempted publication, (d) whether you have been published, etc.Not-entirely-tangential subpart of question one especially if you identify as a writer but are, say, working as a teacher, or an attorney: are you where you intended to be in your life now that you are where you are in your life, and if not, how do you intend to get there? I’m just asking!
