Revival

The last post was called It’s been a long, long, long, long time, and that was six years ago. Since then, I’ve renewed this site annually because I couldn’t imagine giving it up, but I haven’t spent time here and I haven’t thought about what I wanted to do with it. I’ve started some other sites (eight?): all are anonymous, some I’ve maintained, some I’ve uploaded journal entries onto, some I’ve used as backup for other writing. But this, my first website, still feels like home, and in yet another authentic attempt at a semblance of emotional integration, I’m starting again. My first few posts here will likely be reposts from these unknown sites.

The site looks a little bit different, updated from the interwebs circa 2008. I’ve removed most of the links and lists, my curations of friends, food, writers and musicians I liked. I thought I was clever customizing using html and CSS back in the day; none of that stuck with me, and today I spent a few hours finding the right code to simplify the site. Luckily, that was only mildly frustrating, and I think the result is cleaner and simpler. Not like the stove in this photo, which is what my life has felt like this week.
