The 165 Things I Did Between 6:30 and 7:00 This Morning

  1. Rearranged dishes in the sink to have space for morning dishes, etc.
  2. Used brush to clean bottom of sink
  3. Checked dishwasher, saw it was dirty
  4. Picked leaves with brown spots off lettuce
  5. Put them into compost
  6. Cut bottoms off 2 bunches of romaine lettuce with knife on counter
  7. Cut 2 bunches of romaine lettuce into sections with knife on counter
  8. Took salad spinner out of refrigerator
  9. Put lettuce in spinner on top of yesterday’s lettuce
  10. Filled spinner with water
  11. Put bottoms of romaine lettuce into compost
  12. Got frozen bread out of freezer
  13. Pried 4 pieces apart
  14. Took out cutting board
  15. Took out knife
  16. Cut 2 pieces of bread into cubes
  17. Set aside other 2 pieces on cutting board
  18. Got out bowl
  19. Put cubes in bowl, added olive oil, salt, pepper
  20. Got spoon
  21. Mixed up cubes
  22. Got out tray
  23. Pour cubes on tray and spread around
  24. Put in toaster oven at 400 degrees
  25. Set timer for 10 minutes
  26. Pour water out of spinner
  27. Fill again with cold water
  28. Get out containers for lunch, spread on counter
  29. Take Parmesan cheese and Caesar dressing out of fridge
  30. Fill two salad dressing containers with Caesar dressing
  31. Spill one
  32. Clean up with rag
  33. Rinse rag
  34. Make sure tops are tight on salad dressing containers
  35. Take out small baggie from drawer
  36. Put Miles’s salad dressing container in baggie and seal it, set aside
  37. Put Olivia’s salad dressing container in center of sectioned middle lid
  38. Put away Caesar dressing
  39. Pour water out of spinner
  40. Put top on spinner
  41. Spin salad spinner
  42. Dump water and spin again
  43. Pick out crunchy leaves and fill both kids containers
  44. Set spinner aside
  45. Pour yesterday’s coffee into pint glass
  46. Empty rest of coffee pot into sink
  47. Fill coffee pot with running hot water
  48. Bring yesterday’s filter with coffee grounds to compost
  49. Smell croutons and realize they’re ready
  50. Take croutons out and put tray on stove
  51. Get coffee beans and new filter out from cabinet
  52. Rinse coffee filter container and lid with hot water
  53. Pour coffee beans into grinder
  54. Stop running hot water in coffee pot
  55. Grind coffee beans
  56. Insert new filter in filter container
  57. Dump coffee beans into filter in filter container
  58. Put lid on filter container
  59. Place filter container onto coffee maker
  60. Empty coffee pot filled with hot water
  61. Fill coffee pot with cold water
  62. Pour cold water into coffee maker
  63. Place lid on water compartment
  64. Start coffee maker
  65. Distribute croutons evenly between both containers of lettuce
  66. Open old crouton container and notice hot dog bun inside
  67. Compost hot dog bun and old croutons
  68. Get out cheese grater
  69. Grate Parmesan cheese into both containers of lettuce
  70. Put grater in sink
  71. Place lid on Miles’s container
  72. Place sectioned middle lid on Olivia’s container
  73. Put salad dressing in baggie on top of Miles’s container
  74. Get fork from drawer and put that on top of Miles’s container
  75. Wrap Parmesan cheese
  76. Put Parmesan cheese away
  77. Empty crumbs from cutting board into garbage
  78. Take out half apple and radishes from refrigerator and put on cutting board
  79. Open croissant container
  80. Slice two croissants lengthwise on cutting board
  81. Insert sliced croissants into toaster with 2 slices of bread taken out before
  82. Empty crumbs from cutting board into garbage again
  83. Cut roots and tops off radishes
  84. Put roots and tops in compost
  85. Wash radishes in sink
  86. Place on cutting board
  87. Get saute pan and saucepan from cabinet
  88. Move cast iron pan to back burner
  89. Place saute pan on left burner and saucepan on right burner
  90. Take out butter
  91. Look in freezer to see if we have more butter
  92. Take knife out of drawer
  93. Cut slice of butter and put in saute pan
  94. Put away butter
  95. Take 3 eggs out of refrigerator
  96. Take bowl out of cabinet
  97. Place eggs in bowl
  98. Take out large measuring cup
  99. Fill cup with 4 cups of cold water
  100. Take measuring cup from drying rack
  101. When coffee takeout cup lid falls in cold water, shake out and put back on drying rack
  102. Pour water in saucepan
  103. Take oats out of cabinet
  104. Fill measuring cup with 2 cups of oats and pour in saucepan
  105. Take out raisins and dump handful in saucepan
  106. Put raisins back in cabinet
  107. Get out slotted spoon and stir saucepan
  108. Start stove flame on high
  109. Use sparking tool to start medium flame under saute pan
  110. Start toaster oven with croissants and bread
  111. Crack 3 eggs into bowl
  112. Add salt and pepper
  113. Get out fork
  114. Scramble the eggs
  115. Slice radishes on cutting board
  116. Slice apple on cutting board
  117. When butter sizzles, pour eggs into saute pan
  118. Get out fish spatula and lay on counter
  119. Put egg bowl and fork in sink
  120. When timer dings, take plate out of cabinet
  121. Place toasted croissants on plate
  122. Put plate on stove back burner
  123. Start toaster again to toast bread more
  124. Take out peanut butter and jam from refrigerator and put on counter
  125. Flip eggs in saute pan with fish spatula
  126. Get out ketchup from refrigerator
  127. Put sliced radishes and sliced apple in Olivia’s lunchbox and close lid
  128. Get out small container
  129. Fill with radishes for Miles
  130. Fold eggs in thirds
  131. Use fish spatula to cut eggs in half
  132. Place half of omelette on toasted croissant and put on small plate for Olivia
  133. Squirt ketchup on other toasted croissant
  134. Put other half of omelette on ketchup croissant
  135. Leave on plate
  136. Fill Olivia’s water bottle from filter in fridge
  137. Get toast from toaster
  138. Get knife from drawer
  139. Place toast on cutting board
  140. Spread peanut butter on one side of toast
  141. Rinse off knife
  142. Spread jam on other side of toast
  143. Put two slices together
  144. Get aluminum foil from drawer
  145. Tear off piece and lay it on counter
  146. Wrap peanut butter and jam sandwich in foil
  147. Put foil away
  148. Get two icepacks from freezer
  149. Get both lunchbags from bench
  150. Open Olivia’s lunch bag and put in ice pack, lunchbox, and Luna Bar (which Olivia left on top of her lunchbox)
  151. Open Miles’s lunch bag and put in ice pack, salad container, radish container, salad dressing, fork, and peanut butter and jam sandwich
  152. Take out aluminum foil again
  153. Tear off another piece
  154. Wrap croissant egg sandwich in foil and lay it on top of miles’s lunchbox
  155. Get tea cup from cabinet
  156. Fill it with filtered water
  157. Put it in the microwave for 60 seconds
  158. Get nose spray bottle from drying rack
  159. Get nose spray mix from drawer
  160. Tear open nose spray mix and dump in nose spray bottle
  161. Throw away nose spray mix packet
  162. Open microwave, take out tea cup with warm water
  163. Pour water into nose spray bottle
  164. Screw top onto bottle and shake
  165. Leave in front of Miles’s lunchbox
